On June 10, a group of fifteen MDG youth network volunteers packed their bags full of flowers and seeds and were ready to travel to the orphanage #27 in Gulistan, Syrdarya Region. This idea for a project came up in order to celebrate the World Environment Day and show what younger generation can do to save our green planet.
Volunteers have prepared short skits showing careless attitude of people towards environment after which children had to analyze and come up with their own solutions on how they should treat the environment.
Later on volunteers and children moved on to their main mission- creation of eco-corner at the orphanage. Children from the orphanage took a leading role in designing and preparing place for their future garden and regardless of heat everyone kept working hard for a common goal. In addition to planting different flowers and seeds volunteers have prepared and put up signs with facts about environmental issues that will remind them to take good care of the newly created ecological corner, but also will bring back good memories of common efforts.
At the end of a very successful day, all environmental enthusiasts were awarded with small presents and showed volunteers some of their talents in dancing and singing.
